In addition to Komax, Repstronics offers technology from Amada Weld Tech, a specialist in resistance welding systems. One of their standout products is the high-caliber cable compacting system, an innovative solution for compacting braided cables or wires using a welding process that ensures a robust and highly conductive connection. This equipment is ideal for applications where current transfer needs to be efficient and reliable, reducing the risk of short circuits and increasing the mechanical strength of the connection.
The Amada Weld Tech compacting process involves applying heat through tungsten electrodes under controlled pressure, which allows the cable strands to be compacted into a solid cuboid. This type of compacting is essential in cable manufacturing and has proven to be an effective alternative to traditional connection methods like crimping, particularly in electric vehicle applications and high-power cables, achieving better electrical conductivity, lower resistance, and greater adhesion to the terminal.
